The hilly region of Shinshiro is known for its many rice terraces. Several times a year the rice fields bloom and the small white flowers fill the air with a sweet vanilla-like scent. Treatments ^® has used tonka beans as a base note, supplemented with sweet and fresh scents such as ylang ylang, rose and white lily to bring to life the overwhelming scent of the small rice blossoms from Japan in its products.
